Annalise Yuri Murphy (1991) is an American Artist and Filmmaker in Brooklyn, New York.
Born in Evergreen Colorado, Annalise Yuri Murphy has been living and working in Brooklyn, NY for 12 years. With a degree in Experimental Media production, her early work focused on interactive projection mapped installations and non-linear video art. She expanded through residencies from Medellín to South Africa, sculpting with local materials and site-specific processes: fabric, clay, and bronze. Her art practice shifted from installation to painting in 2018, where she still explores today. Rooted in curiosity, her work embodies the fluidity of inner worlds, the river of life, and the innate drive to document. A tender wanderer, embracing the mountains, the city and the sea, she works to distill the essence of femininity, nature, and their rebellious spirits.
At the core of her work lies the belief that art reminds us something different is always possible and that every act of creation is ultimately, an act of liberation.
